Learning international culture

International culture?

Culture in the sociological field is analysed as the ways of thinking and describing, acting, and material objects that together shape a group of people's way of life.

Culture is the combination of shared values, norms, and beliefs of people and refers to the way of living life inherited from generations and consists of behaviours, values, and symbols. The accumulation of experiences, beliefs, attitudes, behaviours, values, religions, and knowledge of a group of people is called culture.

Culture involves differentiates the people of one group from others and varies from place to place, country to country etc.

Challenges?

Human beings are free in living their lives, but they are also expected to follow the norms set by society. They cannot live as per their style.

Cultures differ from place to place, however with the increased levels of travel and tourism for business and for study purposes, cultures tend to mix a lot and become a hybrid version. Example: The Indian people these days wish in English “Good morning” rather than the Indian “namaste”, etc.

Opportunities?

Following local customs and using local greetings etc, can make you instant friendships and align you in line with your friends in half the time and help you succeed in your endeavour.

  4. Happened to learn about one of the worlds largest Hindu temples. The Mahavishnu Temple in Angkor Wat, Cambodia is the largest religious monument ever built anywhere in the world. It occupies an area of 1626 sq. km. (402 acres) and is an architectural piece of its own. Wonder why it is not in "Wonders of the world" yet! Enjoy this man made beauty and a heritage site built approx 900 years ago.
